Spaying you pets can be very important, not only can it save your pet but make them happier and healthier as well. The best reason for spaying your female cat or dog it that it prevents breast cancer and life-threatening uterine infections. This procedure also prevents unwanted puppies and kittens. Spayed pets tend to be happier and affectionate animals after being fixed.
Spaying does not make your animal fat or lazy, only overfeeding and lack of exercise can do that. Spaying does not make animals aggressive it actually tends to have the opposite effect. The surgery done for this procedure is now very safe with modern anesthesia and proper surgical techniques the discomfort to your animal will be minimal. Before having your pet spayed it is important to make sure they are healthy.
Make sure you pet has been wormed and all immunization are current and up to date. On the night before surgery no food after 10 p.m. and no water after the dog wakes up in the morning. Make sure to monitor you animal’s activities for 1 week after surgery so that it does not accidentally pull out it's stitches. If there are any emergencies or problems call the vet immediately. Once you pet has healed from surgery, life will get back to normal and you will have your happy, healthy pet back loving and affectionate as always. Be sure to take special care with your pet until the stitches come out as this will prevent any discomfort, infections, or pain.
